Recreation & Entertainment Here in Pittsford, major sporting events are a highlight of the entertainment scene. The annual LPGA tour is held each year in June at Locust Hill County Club; and Oak Hill County Club has hosted the Ryder Cup, the U S Open and several PGA Championships. Great Embankment Park, at 631 Marsh Rd., has multipurpose fields, an amphitheater, fishing pier and small boat launch; Habecker Fields, at 34 East St., offers Little League and T-ball fields; Hopkins Park at Barker Rd. and Mendon Center Rd. has multipurpose and softball fields; Isaac Gordon Nature Park at 3450 Clover St., includes nearly 120 aces of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing; King's Bend Park at 170 Jefferson Rd. has winterized lodges, a fishing pound and a playground; Lock 62 and the Erie Canal Trail at 3195 Monroe Ave. offers paths along the Erie Canal; and Thornell Farm Park at 480 Mendon Rd. features softball fields, a handball court, jogging and sledding, and lighted tennis and basketball courts.
Annual Events
There is a town Memorial Day Parade, a Summer Concert Series at the Port of Pittsford Park, Family Outdoor Movies in Thornell Farm Park, and a Kid's Fishing Derby. Other town favorites are Positively Pittsford, providing music and more in June; Pittsford Celebrates – complete with fireworks - in September; a Family Halloween Fest in October; and the annual Candlelight Night in the Village area in December. |
