Essentials Pendleton has a few small businesses, shops and restaurants, but you’re going to have to travel to Lockport or Amherst for most shopping needs. Not to worry, both are nearby: For grocery shopping, Amherst has a Wegmans supermarket on Niagara Falls Boulevard (6 miles southwest of Pendleton) and four Top’s Friendly Markets stores (on Transit Road, Main Street, Maple Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard). Lockport also has three Top’s Friendly Markets. The closest is on South Transit Road, 6 miles northeast. For retail shopping, Lockport has a Walmart Supercenter, a Bon Ton clothing store, a Walgreen’s and several specialty- and gift shops. Amherst has a lot of shopping options, including Boulevard Mall (which has Sears and JC Penney, among many others), a Target, and much more. Amherst has plenty of restaurants including major national chains. Route 78 (also called Transit Road), which runs north-south along the eastern edge of Pendleton, is lined with all kinds of places to shop and eat. Students here attend either the Starpoint Central School District (which also includes parts of Cambria, Lockport, Wheatfield and Royalton) or the Lockport City School District. The closest hospitals are Eastern Niagara in Lockport and Millard Fillmore in Williamsville, Erie County (only 10 miles south of Pendleton). The Lockport Public Library serves residents of Pendleton. |
